✨ Cabbage Beef Bake ✨

Layers of tender cabbage, savory beef, and rich tomato sauce — baked to bubbling perfection!


🍲 Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped (about 6–8 cups)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

🍲 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2️⃣ Cook the beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink.
Drain any excess grease.

3️⃣ Build the sauce:
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for about 5 minutes.

4️⃣ Assemble the casserole:
Spread half of the chopped cabbage in the bottom of the baking dish.
Top with half of the beef mixture.
Repeat the layers with the remaining cabbage and beef mixture.

5️⃣ Bake covered:
Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.

6️⃣ Add the cheese:
Uncover, sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
Bake uncovered for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7️⃣ Serve:
Let sit for 5 minutes, then scoop and enjoy! 🥰
