Classic Stuffed Bell Peppers πŸ§€πŸ…

Tender bell peppers filled with savory ground beef, rice, and a rich tomato sauce, then topped with melted cheese… this dish is nostalgic, easy, and always a hit at the dinner table!


πŸ“ Ingredients

  • 6 large bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2️⃣ Prepare the peppers: Slice off the tops and remove seeds/membranes. Blanch in boiling water for 3–4 minutes, then place upright in a baking dish.

3️⃣ Make the filling:
In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.

4️⃣ Add cooked rice, half the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper. Stir to combine and heat through.

5️⃣ Stuff the peppers generously with the beef mixture.

6️⃣ Pour remaining tomato sauce over the top. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

7️⃣ Uncover, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

8️⃣ Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
